One foot turns out more.
One leg creeps forward.
You lose the same stirrup.
One side never quite feels like the other.
Maybe you don't need to keep fixing your position.
Maybe the support underneath you needs to change.
RYDE starts at the foot.Because what happens at the foot doesn't stay at the foot.
Different hip mobility. Different ankle range. Previous injuries. Dominant sides. Years of compensation.
Yet we traditionally put the same fixed equipment underneath both feet.
RYDE asks a different question:
What if each side could be supported according to what that side actually needs?
Your feet are your base of support in the stirrups. Change how the foot is supported and you can change what the rest of the body has to compensate for.
RYDE is designed to support the rider from the foot upwards, rather than continually asking the rider to adapt to fixed equipment.

Where the footplate supports the foot.

How the foot is supported across the tread.

The direction the stirrup sits relative to the leather and the natural direction of the leg.
We've heard that before.
We've also had riders try someone else's RYDEs, hate them and assume the stirrups didn't work.
The problem?
They were set up for somebody else.
Don't borrow someone else's settings and call that trying RYDE.
Try them properly. Set them up around you. Then make your own mind up.

So does what happenswhen things go wrong.
The outer branch is designed to release under significant pressure, regardless of the direction of a fall, reducing the risk of the rider remaining trapped in the stirrup.
The wide concave footplate and grip surface provide stability during normal riding.
A safety mechanism that is less sensitive to accidental release, making it ideal for jumping, cross country, young horses, team chasing and hunting.

RYDE stirrups are designed to be adjusted around the individual rider. That means the set-up matters.
Our video consultancy service allows us to look at you riding, not simply tell you where we think the stirrups should be set. We assess what is happening through each side of your body and use that information to guide your RYDE set-up.
We can look at:
Already riding in RYDE? We can also review your existing set-up.
Your left stirrup does not have to be set exactly like your right. That is the point.
We help you use the adjustability built into RYDE, rather than leaving you to work it out alone.
Choose your RYDE.
Same philosophy. Different levels of adjustment.
Because riders need different amounts of adjustment. All three share RYDE's lateral alignment. Align Shift keeps it simple with a fixed 90° top and a fixed footplate. Align 360 adds a top that rotates through 360° in 15° steps. RYDE Adjustable also lets you change the angle of the footplate, for the most individual set-up.
Most stirrups are fixed: the same shape under both feet. RYDE lets you change where the footplate supports your foot and, depending on the model, how the stirrup hangs and the angle of the tread. Left and right can be set independently. RYDE stirrups are precision engineered in Sweden.
Not every rider does. If both sides feel the same and your position stays where you put it, you may not. If you keep correcting the same thing on the same side, it's worth looking at what's underneath your feet.
Start with how much adjustment you want. Align Shift gives you RYDE's lateral alignment in the simplest form. Align 360 adds rotation. RYDE Adjustable adds footplate angle and gives you the most control over each side.

Every RYDE stirrup has a safety release. On the RYDE Adjustable, the outer branch is designed to release under significant pressure, whatever the direction of the fall. The Align range is fully enclosed, with a less sensitive release that opens from the bottom upwards, which suits jumping, cross country, hunting, team chasing and young horses.

We watch you ride on video, look at what is happening through each side of your body, and recommend a RYDE set-up to try. You can add a 30-minute video stirrup fitting when you buy RYDE Adjustable, and we can also review a set-up you already ride in.
Yes. That's the point. Each stirrup is adjusted on its own, so each side can be set for what it actually needs.

RYDE can be set up around differences in hip, knee and ankle mobility, including after an injury. We can't give medical advice, so speak to your physio or doctor too, and tell us about it during your video consultancy so we can take it into account.
RYDE gives you the ability to adjust the equipment, instead of continually asking an asymmetrical body to compensate for identical equipment.
